Grupo Modelo, founded in 1925 the leading company in Mexico in beer production, distribution and marketing, announced that its Corona Extra brand was picked by Facebook users as their favorite beer.
The survey was done on Facebook where 2.5 million users picked their favorite 5 beers, and Corona came in first followed by Heineken, Guinness, Stella Artois and Budweiser.
Jose Pares, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Grupo Modelo and the maker of Corona Extra said that having their brand on top of the list in an unsolicited survey is definitely a huge success for the brand and the image it has on its target market.
Grupo Modelo exports 5 brands and deals with 159 countries. It even imports Anheuser-Busch InBev's products in Mexico, including Budweiser, Bud Light, O'Doul's and also some Chinese beer. Grupo Modelo trades in the Mexican Stock Exchange since 1994 with the ticker symbol GMODELOC.
