PROJECT 1
A PROJECT ON GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT CHANNEL
SAB TV is a general entertainment channel that was launched on 23 april , 2000 by sri adhikari brothers owners of multi screen media pvt. Ltd. Is based in mumbai , maharashtra. It is a comedy centric channel. It’s tag line is “Maza sab ke sath aata hai”.
The shows that are shown between the time slot of 8 to 10 are :
1. BAAL VEER (8:00-8:30) - It is kids based superhero show which deals with a kid who is a human and is taken to pari lok by 6 fairies and is blessed by their powers using which he helps Manav and meher to fight against all the ups and downs in their life. He lives with them as Ballu . The main obstacle in his way is Bhayankar Pari, who is an enemy of the good fairies. She tries to stop baalveer and good fairies from helping people by putting obstacles in their way. She even makes rani pari a statue of ice and that she gets trapped as a prisoner into a jail . Meanwhile Bawandar Pari gets released and harms Baalveer. Then in some time Rani pari becomes fine again and Bhayankar pari gets released from jail with the help of Bawandar pari. After a lots of struggle Bawandar pari turns into a rock and the story moves so on and so forth .The target audience of this show is kids below the age of 15 years. This show is basically a kind of fairytale for kids which deals with the odds of life that fairies go through but in the end they win as always good wins over evil .It has been presented as a television serial to the children so as to learn good qualities and make them strong fight with the problems that they may face in life. It has a decent TRP i.e television rating point as it does well only in kids but still not to well overall.
2. TARAK MEHTA KA OOLTAH CHASMA (8:30-9:00) – This show mainly deals with diverse people from different culture who live together in harmony in a society called Gokuldham society and the happenings that take place in their life. The concept of this show has been taken from the book “ Duniya Na Oondha Chashmah” written by Tarak Mehta. It focuses on different problems that can arise in an individual’s life and even focuses on social issues or evils that are there in India .They present the problem in a comic manner so that people become aware about things in a comic and entertaining way. The main characters in this show are Jethalal Gada and his Family i.e. his wife Daya Jethalal Gada , his son Tipendra Gada and his father Champaklal Gada. The show has a great impact on common man as it deals with the irony common man and his family’s life but still in a comic sense . The target audience is people from every age group. It has reached out to many people and has brought a smile on their face and is doing extremely well as it is one of the most viewed serials across the country. It is doing exceptionally well.
3. CHIDIYA GHAR(9:00-9:30) – The main concept of the story focuses on how every individual posses a characteristic of one or the other animal and that is why all the members of the family have their name according to the characteristic of the animal they posses. The story is about Kesari his two sons, Gomukh and Ghotak, their respective wives, Mayuri and Koel , younger son Kapi , grandchildren Gillu and Gajgamini , daughter Maina and son in law Tota . The family members react and behave like an animal after which they are named on every situation or even after every sentence or does a gesture.they even have a servent called Gadha Prasad who is exteremely stupid and his common sense is as bad as a donkey .Their house is named after kesari’s wife who is no more. Different events take place in the family and in whicha problem arises which they are able to resolve at the end creating a sense of laughter amongst the audience. It has a target audience from all the age groups and is doing well. It is the 2nd most viewed serial by the audience on Sab Tv after Tarak Mehta ka ooltah chasmah. It is a good break for people having hectic lifestyles with moments filled with laughter.
4. JEANNIE AND JUJU(9:30-10:00)- The story revolves around a Jeannie and Captain Vicky Arora whom Jeannie calls juju. It is a combination of comedy, fantasy and romance . Vicky is a pilot at priya airlines who while flying an aeroplane looses control over the flight and has to make an emergency landing on a deserted island. After landing he finds a bottle on the island in which he witnesses a 2000 yr old Jeannie trapped in a bottle by jingora (the evil man). He rescues her because of which she falls in love with him and follows him into his world without his knowledge and one fine day he finds Jeannie in his house. He asks her to leave but she dosen’t and stays back and regularly creates problem in vicky’s life and then tries to rectify it any how at the end .The show is not doing well according to the latest readings of the trp’s of past few weeks . The target audience is people from all the age group though the show is unable to do so as it is not able to attract enough audience. The show has a comic sense as it’s base which has been quite difficult to achieve and even the story has not been able to grabe much of people’s attention. So it’s is on an average doing ok.
CONCLUSION:
The channels basic criteria is to make people laugh in the prime time in which it has been exceptionally successful in past few years as it has come up such popular and most viewed shows. It has been able to reach out general public not only in the sense of availability but has reached them out as to make them feel wanted and in the box.
