10 Creative Ways To Spend Your Long Vacation

Posted on 01 April 2010 by BMMBoxer

You emerge out of the exam hall on the last day of the exams and race down the stairs, reach the canteen and you are all smiles. For the next half an hour, you discuss the question paper, some may even tear them into hundreds of pieces. Order your favorite dish, laugh away to glory, exchange temporary goodbyes and bid farewell to college for some weeks.

The very next day morning:
You wake up late, switch on the Idiot Box, surf through the channels, find absolutely nothing entertaining. Turn on the PC, log in to your favorite social networking sites and woah! Find nobody online. You can’t help cursing your fate. You look around aimlessly in search of something intriguing, but in vain. You twist your muscles, yawn a big one and your mind is totally blank and you do not know what you are going to do the whole day.

In order to avoid such situations, here are some simple tips on how to make your otherwise boring vacation an interesting one.

• FIRST THINGS FIRST:

Look out for Summer Internships. Contact your seniors and ask them for some help. Don’t let go of any opportunity. Even if the internship is not from any big news house or television channel, don’t let it go.

Experience, at the end of the day is Experience and it counts any day.

• SWAY AWAY TO GLORY:

Don the dancing shoes and let your soul free. Join some dance classes. Who knows…you might be the star performer for your college in the coming year!

• MUSIC IS THE BEST DRUG:

Pick up any musical instrument and learn it up so that you do not depend on anything or anybody to entertain you. I am sure nobody will disagree when I say GUITAR is a man’s best buddy. It doesn’t require electricity. It just requires a person strumming it in style.

• READY, STEADY, CLICK!! :

Grab your camera and go on clicking anything and everything. You never know you might just end up capturing stills you never thought you would be able to.

• INDULGE IN THE FINER FORMS OF ARTS:

Who doesn’t have paints, crayons and sketch pens at their place? Search for them, find sheets of paper and let your imagination fly. You might be the reincarnation of Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci.

• SWITCH TO BLOGGING:

It’s the latest trend and the number of bloggers is increasing more rapidly than the population of our country. You are not bound to follow any rules or regulation in order to express your thoughts online. You are free as a bird. So, enter the world of blogging and share your thoughts with the entire world.

• CREATE A MEMORY BOOK:

Exploit your creativity and make a Scrapbook consisting of all your treasured moments. Years later, the book will definitely make you smile even if you are as busy as a bee then.

• EXPERIMENT WITH THE SPICES:

Enter the kitchen and try your hand at preparing something deliciously edible dish. By the end of the long vacation, you might be the expert cook of your house.

• HIT THE ROADS:

Pack your backpack; call up your buddies and head on to a day long road trip of your city. Explore it and discover the heritages which you tend to overlook during your everyday journeys.

• TURN A CRITIC:

Watch Movies, read Books and critically analyze the characters. It’s real fun and you might someday write a regular column in any newspaper.

These are some of the brainstorming and lucrative ways to spend your holidays. Hope you enjoy your vacations and feel rejuvenated before you begin with the new session.
