The Brand

Bachelors of Mass Media (BMM) was introduced by at Jai Hind College in 2002, and the course has rapidly caught up with the city’s students, most aspiring to be film-makers, journalists or advertising professionals. The JHC BMM has rapidly grown is stature to become the most sought after in Mumbai.The class of 2009- ’10  when in their second year were instrumental in initiating DETOUR. Lat year, the Fest in its Second year saw the 3 day event grow in leaps and bounds. Thus establishing  a new bench mark and creating THE brand DETOUR.

With a footfall of 3000 young media students over a span of 3 days, Detour has over the past two years become one of the most awaited inter-college media festivals in the city. A mélange of entertainment-based, media oriented events and workshops and seminars conducted by varied industry professionals means Detour  today epitomises a college festival with professional standards beyond compare .

Over the last two years Detour has hosted, among many others, celebrities namely Imran Khan, Boman Irani, Pia Trivedi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Sahil Shroff,  media professionals such as Vikram Phadnis, Tarun Mansukhani, Siddarth Anand, Vinay Pathak and Raghav Sachar as judges for various events organized and speakers for workshops conducted. Detour has also caught the eye of youth channels such as UTV Bindass, and MTV, that have  featured Detour in their popular show Wassup. Detour’s ability to combine intellectual and creative brilliance with entertainment with a high celebrity quotient has made it a brand name to be associated with.
